Yoga is one of my favorite activities when it comes to flexibility and body awareness, but if you are new to yoga, it can seem intimidating. Here are a few of my tips to help you get started:

1. Not sure where to start? Yoga is a great exercise to cross train with, incorporate it into your existing workout schedule. Don’t feel like you need to quit all other workouts and replace them with yoga.

2. Find a good instructor. There are plenty of yoga videos for free on youtube, but nothing beats having an instructor there to correct your form. Even small corrections can make a big difference, so it is important to have someone there to watch your form.

3. Modify the movements if you need. You don’t need to be the most flexible person in the room right away. Don't be afraid to use items like the yoga block or other tools to help you perform the movements.
