January has come and gone, but it’s never too late to get active! The best way to make sure your joints stay healthy is to get out everyday and stay active. A joint in motion tends to stay in motion. Here are 3 tips to help you stay active:
1. Plan your activity with a friend.
A friend can help keep you accountable. You are more likely to keep active if a friend is counting on you to get moving with them.
2. Try Pickleball.
Learning a new sport is a great way to stay motivated. Learning new tasks is a great way to keep your mind and body sharp. If you’ve never tried Pickleball, give it a try.
Pro tip: Pickleball is a great game to play with friends. Schedule time to play with people you know to help keep you on track and accountable for your activity goals.
3. Write it down.
Put your activity time in your daily schedule. If it is written down, you are more likely to stick to your plan and less likely to schedule other tasks during that time.
Make your activity a habit. If you’re short on time, a quick walk around your neighborhood is a great place to start. You don’t need a gym membership to be active. Find something that you enjoy doing and get moving!
