Staying Healthy While Stuck at Home
Since you’ve been stuck at home the last few weeks, it may seem like your New Year's fitness goals have gone out the window. Even though you can’t make it to the gym, there are still some changes you can make to lead a healthier life.
1. Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning.
Drinking water as soon as you wake up can kick start your metabolism and help keep you hydrated. Getting your metabolism moving can help you burn calories throughout the day.

2. Keep moving.
With all the gyms closed, many of us have stopped exercising. Find ways to keep yourself active throughout the day. Things like gardening and housework are easy activities you can do when stuck at home. Try not to get stuck sitting on the couch and watching tv. Set a timer for 30 minutes every time you sit for a task and stand up and move around for at least 10 minutes.
3. Try meatless Mondays.
You don’t need to switch to being a full vegetarian, but I think we can all agree that we need to eat more vegetables. Plan at least one dinner a week that is predominantly vegetables. (Pasta does not count as a meatless meal).
Remember fitness is more than just exercise, it includes diet as well. These simple everyday changes can add up to big results.
